Tasmanian State Titles 2025-26 Leven Yacht Club
Tasmanian State Titles 2025-26 were run at Leven Yacht Club over the weekend of 31 January 1 February 2026.
Despite a small fleet there was competitive sailing and some great racing. The fleet included Nick Richardson & Natalia Wesniewska with Natalia on helm in Rocket Ship, Adrian Beswick skippering On the Edge with Brady Tassicker as crew Ross Daley with Roger Jackson as crew in Early Warning Huon Williams with Daisy Locke in the Turtle and Steve Miller and Safiya Davidson in Phantom.
Saturday was a lovely day with a pretty steady NW breeze slowly clocking west (as usual) and relatively flat water producing some great racing.
Race one got away on time at 13:00 and after a tight tussle with little separating the whole fleet it was On the Edge first Rocket Ship in second The Turtle in a fantastic performance in thid.
Race two got away at 13:40 and again it was On the Edge first Phantom in second and Rocket Ship in third.
Race three got away at 14:35 and again it was On the Edge, Phantom and Rocket Ship in 1-2-3.
Race four had a course change and initially a bit more breeze though it lightened as the race progressed and the RO decided a three lapper was appropriate.
This time Nick took the helm in Rocket Ship and the boat lived up to its name with a commanding win, On the Edge was second and Phantom third.
Sunday’s forecast was a bit problematic but we at least had four races in for a result.
Sunday rolled around and a series of cells were passing with quite strong winds at times after an initial postponement for an hour it was decided not to head out and we packed up the boats had our AGM and did the trophy presentation.
In first was On the Edge Adrian Beswick and Brady Tassicker 1-1-1-2=5
second Rocket Ship Natalia Wesniewska and Nick Richardson 2-3-3-1=9
third Phantom Steve Miller & Safiya Davidson 5-2-2-3=12
On handicap it was Early Warning Ross Daley & Roger Jackson
