B14 Australian National Titles 2025/6: Day 1 Report
Day one of the B14 Australian National Titles got underway in challenging conditions, with racing initially delayed as the sea breeze faded and Race 1 was abandoned while the fleet waited for the prevailing north-easterly to establish. After relocating the start boat and relaying the course, the breeze eventually filled in from the NE, allowing racing to commence at 3:40pm in a steady 10–14 knots.
Snatch (Craig Garmston / Paul Fleming) opened their regatta in style, taking a convincing win by almost two minutes. Rocket Ship (Nick Richardson / Natalia Wisniewska) claimed second place, with Jumpin’ Jack Flash (Roger Jackson / Luke Verceli) rounding out the podium in third.
Race 2 followed in similar conditions, starting at 4:26pm. Once again Snatch proved dominant, securing their second win of the day. The Nude (Richie Reynolds / Lissa McMillen) finished second, with Rocket Ship backing up their earlier result in third.
Looking ahead to today, cooler temperatures are forecast along with the chance of late showers and a 15-knot southerly for Races 3 and 4.
Racing continues under Australian Sailing.
