B14 Australian National Titles 2025/6: Day 3 Report
B14 National Championships 2025/26: Day 3
Day three delivered classic B14 conditions, with Race 5 sailed in a solid SSE breeze of ~16–19 knots and gusts regularly into the low 20s, peaking at 25+ knots. The demanding conditions took their toll, with several boats retiring during the race. The Nude did not sign on for the start, while RSC Side Effects and Jumpin’ Jack Flash both missed marks. In total, seven boats recorded DNFs, including 103, which unfortunately timed out.
At the finish, Snatch (Craig Garmston & Paul Fleming) continued their dominant form, taking the win by 46 seconds from Rocket Ship (Nick Richardson & Natalia Wisniewska) in second, with Blown Seal (Rob Winn & Tom Carolyn) securing third place.
Race 6 started at 15:41 after a delay when the start boat dragged anchor and the course had to be reset. The breeze remained much the same as Race 5, with five boats DNS and one DNF.
Once again, Snatch took the gun, this time by just nine seconds from Rocket Ship, while Bang Bang (Scott Foster & Tony Miller) completed the podium in third.
Following racing, the annual Buggar the Bone event was held, rounding out the day with plenty of laughs and a great night ashore.
The second-last day of racing gets underway tomorrow at 14:00.
